PR Internship in New York City ? November 2010
JB Cumberland PR, a home-design, food & lifestyle full-service public relations agency offers European students an unpaid six-month internship with a $500/month stipend provided. The intern will be exposed to American methods of consumer marketing and PR. He/she will have hands on experience of day-to-day activities covering client-related, analytical, creative and administrative tasks.
JB Cumberland PR strategically designs and executes well-targeted national and local promotional projects and media programs to bring clients and their products into the public's awareness effectively, expeditiously and credibly. For further information, please visit www.jbcumberlandpr.com.
Tasks:
The intern will play a crucial role in JB Cumberland PR contacts with media: he/she will help in creating media list databases, create/update press kits, update the company portfolio and organize mailings. Additionally, he/ she will be responsible for evaluating campaigns by creating PR reports and managing clip books. He/ she will participate in brainstorming sessions when campaigns need to be launched or modified. The intern should also expect to handle various administrative tasks such as sending packages, resolving computer issues with external IT experts and running errands. If the occasion arises, the intern may have the opportunity to attend trade shows and meet clients and editors/photographers.
Anforderungen
It is assumed that the applicant for this position is a European student or recent graduate majoring in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field with a strong academic record. The applicant should also be at least 21 years old, motivated, conscientious, fun, outgoing, creative and interested in working in an international environment. It is absolutely necessary for the applicant to be proficient in verbal and written English. The applicant could not have worked more than one year after completing university.
Please note that, since this is an unpaid internship, the intern needs sufficient funds of his/her own for the complete duration of the internship in New York City (recommended amount is a minimum of $1500/month). As indicated, the intern will receive a stipend of $500/month throughout the duration of the internship.
